Babasaheb statue premises at Tank Bund used to be strewn with posters, banners, cut-outs etc., Erstwhile SCI cleaned up the area to declare, “This is sacred place for the sarvajanas, no posters, banners, hoardings be displayed here”. The premises now is exclusive with Babasaheb Statue.

Babasaheb statue gets garlanded here every day by a dedicated PBI team.

On 15th of August Babasaheb launched the first political party, the Independent Labour Party (ILP) in 1936.

To commemorate his political vision, the PBI decided to Hoist the Blue Flag every year on the 15th of August at his statue at Tank Bund, Hyderabad.

It is a continuous education programme on the life, philosophy, writings and speeches of Babasaheb and the other champions of Social Justice in India.

It is held every Sunday between 5 – 7 pm.

A prominent Scholar/Activist suitable to the topic is invited for one hour lecture. The lecture should not deviate from the topic. And the speaker has to face questions for one hour from the participants relating to the topic.

Over a period of time they have become professional and high standard.

So far 438 sessions have been conducted. road blocks, festivals, strikes etc., can not hamper the weekly schedule.
